SELBOURNE HOMES HIT A WINNING RUN - 11th May 2009

Selbourne Homes have been proudly associated with the scoreboard at Old Hill Cricket Club for the past 3 years. #

Now the club have entered the 21st century by installing a new electronic version at a cost of £6000.

Club Chairman Robin Viner said he was keen to modernise the ground in a drive to attract new younger members of the historic club which dates back 125 years.

“We have 70-odd youngsters down here every Friday for coaching, using the new nets and the score board now looks fantastic.”

REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL - 27th January 2009

Despite much doom and gloom surrounding the property market Selbourne Homes have announced a brisk start to 2009. With strong interest across all developments and sales for the first 3 weeks of January already ahead of the same period last year, Managing Director Gavin Warr believes the worst may well be over.

“Following a successful end to 2008 I am pleased to report the welcome trend has continued into this year.” This success is not only attributed to providing good value, well designed, quality contemporary homes in prime Black Country locations but also to an ultimately flexible approach.

“We work very hard to tailor each sale to the needs of the individual purchaser. Whether that is help with deposit schemes for first-time buyers or offering second-time buyers the chance to part exchange, each incentive is designed to make moving easy.”

“Clearly there are reasons to be cheerful” added Gavin

  • The Bank of England base rate is now just 1.5% against 5.5% this time last year
  • The Government Homebuy scheme is being relaunched to help first time buyers without a deposit to take the first step onto the property ladder
  • Buy to let yields are currently achieving around 5%. For those with money to invest this is a considerably higher return than most bank deposit rates and with signs that house prices are bottoming out there may be capital appreciation in the future.
